To begin with the Universe ended. Things only got worse from there.
At the beginning of this year I wrote The Four Orders Series, a short story of 6,800 words over six instalments. All I started with was the opening line (above) and the vague idea the story would be set in the same reality as the main story I am working on.
I wanted to bring the whole story together in one place, as a sort of navigation page for new readers, subscribers and followers so that they can access it all easily.
As a writing exercise it as a great way of developing some of the characters that will feature in my main story. The series also included some details that have ended up featuring quit heavily in the draft of my main story - the bone-white moth that arrives in Part 3 for one.
I also absolutely loved doing the audio for these, and the heavy cold that struck me just before the Vikings arrive in the story was actually quite helpful for the voice performance!
I hope you enjoy the story, I loved writing it.
